Ride the gondola to Mosetertoppen for easy links to family areas, parks, and long blue and red runs. On the south side, Vidsynexpressen gives quick laps and a handy stop at the Vidsyn restaurant. Signs are clear, Wi-Fi is good at the main spots, and the season usually runs from late November to April.
Beginners: Start at KIDS Knerten by the valley station. It’s gentle, close to the ski school, and perfect for first turns. When you’re ready, take the gondola up to KIDS Gondoltoppen and try Frontyard for kids. There’s a covered magic carpet, small features, and an easy step up to a slightly steeper slope.
Intermediates: This is your sweet spot. Hafjell is made for cruising. Long, well groomed blues and steady reds run top to bottom. The new chair on the south side makes fast, repeatable laps.
Advanced: Hafjell isn’t extreme, but it has bite. You’ll find faster fall-line sections, firm morning corduroy, and reds with black-steep parts. It’s a great hill to carve and work on technique.
Cross-country skiing: From the top station you can step straight onto a huge XC network: 300 km (186 mi) locally (600 km/373 mi with Sjusjøen). For evening glides, Mosetertoppen has 6 km (3.7 mi) of lit trails.
Snowboarding: There are three parks. KIDS Mosetertoppen for first jumps and boxes, Backyard for blue, red, black lines (also lit Tue-Thu nights), and Main Park for advanced features. Progress is simple and safe.
Everything is close. Rentals, cafés, and beginner areas sit by the lifts. Three family zones (KIDS Knerten, KIDS Gondoltoppen, and KIDS Gaia), give you space to learn, play, and even sled. Many apartments and cabins are ski-in/ski-out, so naps and meals are easy. The ski bus and gondola keep movement simple.
Snow activities: Lillehammer Olympic Park (bobsledding, tobogganing, luge track, ski jumping), winter walking.
Non-skiing activities: Horse-drawn sleigh rides, swimming pools, slides, and jacuzzis, visits to Lillehammer, Hunderfossen Family Park, horse sleigh rides, gondola rides.
Après is friendly and relaxed. Gaiastova is lively on weekends, while lodge and hotel bars are cozy and calm on colder nights. Think sunny terraces, simple drinks, and an easy walk back to your place.
Food is straightforward and family-friendly. On the hill you’ll find soups, buns, pizza, and classic Norwegian dishes. Skavlen is a favorite for coffee and cake at Mosetertoppen, and the south side makes it easy to pair a lap with lunch at Vidsyn. Book ahead on busy holiday weekends.
4.9/5I usually book flights, ground transportation, hotel, ski rental and lift tickets myself but this year used WeSki for a trip to Morzine. It was so much easier. Everything worked perfectly - ground transportation arrived on time and there was plenty of feedback throughout the whole process giving you confidence the vacation would go smoothly.
A really useful service that is so much easier to use than other 'all-inclusive' sites. It nicely bridges the gap between a travel agent and booking the trip yourself online. I'll use WeSki every time I go skiing from now on.
We booked a late minute skiing trip to Morzine through we ski. We looked at booking the trip ourselves but could get anywhere near the price quoted by we ski. The company was excellent and we had no problems at all from start to finish. I would definitely use them to book another weekend skiing trip.
Seamless experience from start to finish. I was spending ages trying to sort out a weekend break and managed to do it with we ski in minutes and for the same price as booking it all up yourself. Flight, transit and accommodation was all as expected and faultless.
