Portes du Soleil spans the French–Swiss border and brings together 12 resorts, including Avoriaz, Morzine, Châtel, and Champéry, into a vast 600 km (372 mi) ski area. Known for its wide variety, scenic pistes, and freestyle zones, it’s one of Europe’s largest and most accessible ski regions.

Skiing in Portes du Soleil means crossing borders on skis and discovering terrain for every type of skier. Avoriaz is known for its snowparks and dramatic clifftop setting, while Morzine and Les Gets offer family-friendly charm. Experts can test themselves on the infamous Swiss Wall mogul run.

Avoriaz: Set high on a dramatic cliffside, Avoriaz is purpose-built to maximise sunlight exposure, while its slopes remain shaded to preserve excellent snow conditions. This car-free resort is known for its ski-in ski-out convenience and striking architectural style.

Morzine: Situated at the heart of Portes du Soleil, Morzine is a charming year-round alpine village blending French and Swiss cultures. Certified as a "Famille Plus Montagne" destination, it offers extensive off-slope entertainment and vibrant après-ski suitable for visitors of all ages.

Châtel: A traditional French alpine village, Châtel retains its authentic farming heritage. It offers two distinct ski sectors, one connecting to Avoriaz on the French side and the other linking to Swiss resorts like Morgins and Torgon.

Les Gets: Closely linked with Morzine, Les Gets is a family-friendly resort known for its scenic tree-lined pistes. Best suited to intermediate skiers, it is ideal to visit mid-season for optimal snow conditions.

Champéry: An authentic Swiss village situated at around 1,050 m (3,444 ft), Champéry is renowned for its traditional chalets and scenic alpine charm. Positioned between the majestic Dents du Midi and Dents Blanches peaks, it offers access to Portes du Soleil via cable car or bus connections to neighbouring slopes.
