Skiing the SkiBig3 area

The SkiBig3 area, located in the heart of Banff National Park, provides a diverse skiing experience across three renowned resorts: Banff Sunshine, Lake Louise, and Mt. Norquay. Offering over 3,000 ha (7413 ac) of combined skiable terrain, with altitudes reaching up to 2,730 meters (8,956 ft) and some of the most breathtaking alpine views in North America, the area guarantees excellent snow conditions from November through May. Families, beginners, and thrill-seekers alike will find something to love in this unique Canadian Rockies destination.

Ski resorts in the SkiBig3

Banff Sunshine: This resort offers over 1,335 hectares (3,300 acres) of terrain across three mountains, featuring everything from gentle beginner runs to extreme off-piste routes like the famous Delirium Dive. Located just 15 minutes from the town of Banff, Banff Sunshine is known for its long season and stunning views of the Continental Divide.

Lake Louise: With 1,699 hectares (4,200 acres) of skiable terrain, Lake Louise is one of North America’s largest ski resorts. From wide cruising trails to challenging chutes and bowls, its versatile layout allows skiers of all abilities to enjoy the same runs, making it a perfect family-friendly destination.

Mt. Norquay: Known as the local gem, Mt. Norquay offers a smaller but equally exciting skiing experience with a range of terrain for beginners to advanced skiers. It’s also the only resort in Banff National Park to offer night skiing.
