La Tania is a compact, car-free village in the heart of the Three Valleys, the world's largest linked ski area. Originally built for the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics, it has quietly grown into one of the French Alps' best-kept secrets: a friendly, family-oriented base with direct access to over 600km of pistes, but without the bustle of its bigger neighbours. From La Tania's doorstep, you can ski into both the Courchevel and Méribel valleys, and a local Courchevel Valley pass covers plenty of ground for those who don't need the full Three Valleys network.

The local slopes wind through beautiful larch and pine forest, with north-facing aspects that hold snow well and provide excellent visibility. Gentle greens and blues sit close to the village, long cruising reds (like the recently restored Moretta Blanche) thread through the trees, and serious steeps are a short lift ride away on the Saulire and Col de la Loze. Sitting at 1,350m with skiing up to 2,732m, the snow record is strong, bolstered by over 1,500 snow cannons across the Three Valleys system. The season runs from early December through to mid-April.

La Tania's village is small by design: you can walk from one end to the other in five minutes, the centre is car-free, and the resort's facilities are powered by hydroelectric energy. Restaurants range from hearty Savoyard classics to crêperies and pizza spots, and the après-ski scene is friendly and low-key, with live music most evenings at Le Pub. For a change of scenery, Courchevel's shops and Méribel's world-class terrain are a gondola ride away.
