Hidden gemA former 1984 Winter Olympics venue for women’s alpine events, Jahorina blends heritage with a modern lift network and well-groomed, tree-lined pistes.
Beginners: Learning is straightforward: nursery areas sit by the main bases, several lower slopes are floodlit, and ski-kindergarten zones and conveyor belts make first turns simple. English-friendly schools and short laps help confidence build fast.
Intermediates: This is prime cruising. Broad blues and steady reds wrap the mountain for long, top-to-bottom laps, with regular grooming and easy way finding between sectors.
Advanced: Vertical is solid for the Balkans (590 m/1,936 ft), with steeper pitches, occasional bumps, and FIS standard sections kept in excellent shape. When storms roll through, leave some runs ungroomed for a bit of spice.
Snowboarding: Riders get wide carving pistes, sheltered tree lines, and a snowboard park on Trnovo (around 3,000 m²) when set, plus extensive night skiing for extra evening laps.
Cross-country skiing: Nordic fans can switch it up at the Dvorišta Nordic Centre, about 5 km (3.1 mi) from the main lifts, where 54 km (34 mi) of trails are prepared when conditions allow. Good for classic or skate sessions.
Everything is close at hand: rentals, beginner areas, and cafés sit by the base lifts; the fourth children’s training area above the Ogorjelica six-seater adds even more space for little learners; and night-lit greens/blues give parents flexible lesson times. Value-friendly food and lodging round out an easy family set-up.
Snow activities: Snowshoeing, sledding, and guided experiences on and around the resort.
Non-skiing activities: Spa and pool time, scenic gondola rides, and easy day trips to Sarajevo.
Après is friendly and low-key, with slope side terraces and bars at the bases. Expect coffee to cocktails around the Olympic Bar and relaxed hotel bars rather than rowdy scenes. Great value drinks and hearty Balkan comfort food keep evenings simple.
Mountain and village spots serve quick, family-friendly lunches and local flavors (think grilled meats, stews, pita/burek, and sweet baklava), alongside pizzas and burgers. Popular choices include the mountain-top Olympic Bar for big views through floor to ceiling windows, rustic Rajska Vrata for fireside plates, and Café Peggy for terrace days or warming up by the fire on snowy ones. Book ahead on weekends and holidays.

I usually book flights, transfers, hotel, ski rental and lift passes myself but this year used WeSki for a trip to Morzine. It was so much easier. Everything worked perfectly - transfers arrived on time and there was plenty of feedback throughout the whole process giving you confidence the holiday would go smoothly.
A really useful service that is so much easier to use than other 'all-inclusive' sites. It nicely bridges the gap between a travel agent and booking the trip yourself online. I will use WeSki every time I go skiing from now on.
We booked a late minute skiing trip to Morzine through we ski. We looked at booking the trip ourselves but could get anywhere near the price quoted by we ski. The company was excellent and we had no problems at all from start to finish. I would definitely use them to book another weekend skiing trip.
Seamless experience from start to finish. I was spending ages trying to sort out a weekend break and managed to do it with we ski in minutes and for the same price as booking it all up yourself. Flight, transfer and accommodation was all as expected and faultless.
