SkiStar Sälen ski area overview

With one SkiPass, you can roam all four Sälen areas: Lindvallen, Hundfjället, Högfjället and Tandådalen. Below is a quick look at what each sector is best for.

  • Lindvallen: Sälen’s hub and one of Europe’s largest interconnected areas for children and beginners. Expect gentle nursery zones at Valleberget with conveyor belts, button lifts, and ski school, plus Magic Mountain evening skiing with a light show. Many slopeside stays make true ski-in/ski-out days simple.
  • Hundfjället: A family favourite with slopes facing multiple directions, so you can chase the best weather and snow. Direct access from SkiStar Lodge Hundfjället. Don’t miss Trollskogen, a fairytale forest run dotted with wooden characters and playful features, great for kids and relaxed laps.
  • Högfjället: The smallest and most budget-friendly sector. Mostly green and blue pistes and a laid-back vibe, ideal for first days on snow and easy cruising. A low-cost SkiPass (Högfjället-only) is available in-resort. Classic Högfjällshotellet anchors the scene with dining, après and a nightclub.
  • Tandådalen (incl. Östra Tandådalen): The most varied/challenging area, with steeper pistes on the main side and the calmer Östra Tandådalen offering wide, groomed carving runs. A large Snow Park here keeps older kids and teens busy with jumps and rails.
