Known as Bulgaria’s top resort, this location has the region’s best lift system and offers exceptional value for money as an alternative to Alpine skiing. Although the ski area is compact at around 44 miles of trails, there’s still enough terrain for beginners and intermediates to enjoy a leisurely ski vacation, without the Alpine price tag. The slopes descend the Todorka mountain, link to a foothill named Chalin Valog, well-connected with modern lifts and are now the host of regular FIS World Cup events. The town itself has plenty of character, with a well-preserved history and heritage, as well as an array of quaint bars, quirky restaurants and cobbled streets, with a lively atmosphere and lots of great après-ski.
