SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental is one of Austria’s largest and most modern ski areas, nestled in the Kitzbühel Alps. Interlinking eight charming villages, it offers 275 km (170 mi) of pistes, cutting-edge lift systems, and breathtaking panoramic views. Known for its accessibility and diverse terrain, it’s a popular destination for families, groups, and skiers of all levels, with over 80 mountain huts and plenty of off-slope attractions.

Skiing in the SkiWelt

Skiing in SkiWelt means a seamless network of slopes ranging from gentle valley runs to high-altitude challenges. Each resort brings something different; Brixen im Thale and Söll are great for families, while Ellmau and Hopfgarten offer wider terrain and direct access to scenic viewpoints. Efficient lifts and reliable snowmaking make for smooth, snow-sure skiing from December to spring.

SkiWelt villages

Ellmau: Known for its beginner-friendly slopes, Ellmau offers gentle runs perfect for families and first-time skiers. The village is famous for its stunning views of the Wilder Kaiser and its welcoming alpine huts.

Söll: A lively resort ideal for intermediate and advanced skiers, Söll provides direct access to Austria’s largest night skiing area. The slopes here are well-groomed and varied, catering to skiers of all abilities.

Brixen im Thale: Offering a central location within the SkiWelt, Brixen im Thale is a great base for exploring the entire ski area. The resort features long, wide slopes, making it popular with intermediate skiers.

Hopfgarten: Known for its sunny slopes and excellent access to the wider SkiWelt area, Hopfgarten is ideal for leisurely skiers and families. The local runs are well-groomed and surrounded by picturesque scenery.

Westendorf: A favorite among advanced skiers and snowboarders, Westendorf is home to challenging terrain and one of the ski area’s fun parks, making it a hotspot for freestylers.

Scheffau: A quieter resort, Scheffau offers a mix of intermediate and advanced slopes with fantastic views of the Wilder Kaiser. Its central location makes it an ideal starting point for exploring the entire SkiWelt.

Going am Wilden Kaiser: A family-friendly resort, Going offers gentle slopes and picturesque scenery. It's perfect for beginners and those looking for a more relaxed skiing experience.

Itter: With two beginner-friendly practice lifts, easy access to the main SkiWelt slopes in Söll and Hopfgarten, and a scenic valley run from the Hohe Salve, Itter offers a relaxed and scenic skiing experience ideal for families and skiers looking to avoid the crowds.
