Six friends, six animal onesies, and a week on the biggest linked ski area in the world. Guy spent March in Val Thorens with a group from work, riding fresh snow most days and hunting for a glühwein that hadn't come out of a machine. He told us what he would explore next time, and why getting better on a board has given him new reasons to go back.
"Don't get fixated on a specific run: there's so much to see and do."
How huge it was. There's so much to explore! Now that I'm better at riding, I feel I can enjoy more of the resort, and there's a lot I didn't get to see. I'd recommend it to everyone. It really has something for everyone!
The weather was perfect, with non-stop fresh snow and good visibility. One of our final runs really stands out, when we just stopped and stared at the sunset, which was beautiful that day.
If you're not a first-timer, you have to try to explore the whole mountain, on all its sides! Don't get fixated on a specific run: there's so much to see and do.
My fondest food memory is the glühwein, and warming up with it between runs. It's the best. We even went searching for the best version, one that wasn't from a machine.
At the apartment, my team lead announced he was leaving, and that one of my best friends from the team would be replacing him. He got everyone onesies, and we skied the entire trip in them!
