Saskia Falaise sits in the Falaise quarter with the pistes running past the door. Avoriaz is car-free, so the two of them could leave the bags in the studio on arrival and not think about getting anywhere for the rest of the week.

A studio with a sleeping alcove sleeps up to four, so two people get a kitchen and a sitting area without paying for a second bedroom. Self-catering also keeps the evenings loose - no fixed dinner sitting to ski back for.

Direct both ways, with a mid-morning departure rather than a 05:00 start at the airport. The return leaves Geneva at lunchtime, so the last morning was still free.
The two legs use different London airports - out of Luton, back into Southend. Two 23 kg hold bags added as an extra. Ski and board carriage is booked separately, per person.

Both ski on their own gear, so nothing was hired and no lessons were needed. The only extra taken was a hold bag each, which is what a self-catered week really needs.
