The Sportinia sector is home to wide, open nursery slopes ideal for beginners. The area is easily accessible, either by bus from the town center or the Sportinia chairlift. For those making their first marks on the snow, the sunny and sheltered nursery slopes in Sportinia provide a comfortable starting point.
The expansive terrain offers ample cruising opportunities, perfect for refining technique. Notably, the Moncrons area and the path from Sportina to the Clotes chairlift stand out as favorites. Additionally, the interconnectedness of the Milky Way means intermediates can traverse notable distances, experiencing both treeline vistas and open terrains.
While the resort does feature a significant portion of black-rated slopes, advanced skiers may find some of these runs similar to reds in other resorts. Nonetheless, runs like the Olimpico, leading from Mount Fraiteve to Sansicario village, and the black Malafosse offer thrilling descents that challenge even the most experienced.
Following fresh snowfall, the tree runs in Sauze d’Oulx can become secluded pockets of powder paradise. Particularly, the Moncrons area is renowned for holding some of the best powder conditions, and crossing over to Montgenèvre offers iconic off-piste routes, enhancing the cross-border skiing experience.
