Chamrousse blends Olympic grade reds at Recoin with family-friendly greens and blues at Bachat-Bouloud, all tied together by forested runs, night skiing and the Sunset Park freestyle zone.
Beginners: Head to Chamrousse 1700 (Village du Bachat) for wide green slopes, the magic-carpet zone in La Montagne de Téo and the mini-domaine lift pass that keeps costs down while you practise. Gentle blues such as Gaboureaux and the long descent from La Croix to Roche Béranger offer easy progression once snowploughs become parallel turns.
Intermediates: Chamrousse 1750 (Roche Béranger) is blue-run heaven, with tree-lined cruisers that loop back to the village and fast links towards Recoin. From the 2,250 m (7,381 ft) Croix de Chamrousse summit you can string together red pistes like Bachat‐Bouloud and Coqs for a 600 m (1,968 ft) vertical leg-burner. Night-skiing on the floodlit Gaboureaux run (Tues, Thurs & Sat) adds extra mileage.
Advanced & off-piste: Recoin’s north-facing slopes are the testing ground: ski the 1968 Olympic “Olympique Dames” and “Hommes” pistes, rip the steep Casserousse Couloir or drop the ungroomed blacks around Pourettes after a storm. Ski-touring routes from Casserousse (1,400 m/4,593 ft) and dedicated itineraries on La Croix open the door to powder stashes beyond the marked trails, hire a guide for the best lines.
Snowboarding: The 9.5 hectare (23 acres) Sunset Park above Roche Béranger packs something for every rider: an expert slopestyle line, shred rails, skicross/boardercross track, a beginner-friendly Initiatic Park and the sound an light filled Family Park. Features stay open for evening sessions on night-ski dates, and natural side-hits through the larch forest make the home runs just as playful.
Chamrousse is certified with the Famille Plus label and thoughtfully designed with families in mind. Each resort base (1650, 1700, and 1750) has beginner-friendly slopes, ski schools, and magic carpets. The mini-domaine ski pass is a budget-friendly option, giving access to lifts across the family areas and to Teo’s Mountain, a playful slope with interactive features. Off the slopes, little ones can enjoy sledging in age-appropriate areas, snow tubing, an outdoor ice rink, and weekly activities such as fondue nights and storytelling sessions. The resort’s layout, tree-lined terrain, and easy internal shuttle system make it simple for families to get around and enjoy their stay safely.
Snow activities: Snowshoeing, fat-biking, zipline, sledging.
Non-skiing activities: Ice diving, cinema, library, games area, Spa, indoor archery.
The food scene in Chamrousse blends alpine comfort with Savoyard tradition. Expect fondues, raclettes, crepes, and mountain classics served in welcoming restaurants across all three resort bases. Chamrousse 1750 is especially popular for lunch stops, with restaurants like Le Bachat offering slope-side views and hearty fare.
Après-ski in Chamrousse is relaxed and scenic. Sunny terraces at Chamrousse 1700 and 1750 are perfect for a late afternoon drink, while K-Dox in Chamrousse 1700 is a favourite for music and dancing. During school holidays, the Gaboureaux run is floodlit for night skiing with DJs, creating a festive atmosphere as the sun sets over the Alps.

I usually book flights, transfers, hotel, ski rental and lift passes myself but this year used WeSki for a trip to Morzine. It was so much easier. Everything worked perfectly - transfers arrived on time and there was plenty of feedback throughout the whole process giving you confidence the holiday would go smoothly.
A really useful service that is so much easier to use than other 'all-inclusive' sites. It nicely bridges the gap between a travel agent and booking the trip yourself online. I will use WeSki every time I go skiing from now on.
We booked a late minute skiing trip to Morzine through we ski. We looked at booking the trip ourselves but could get anywhere near the price quoted by we ski. The company was excellent and we had no problems at all from start to finish. I would definitely use them to book another weekend skiing trip.
Seamless experience from start to finish. I was spending ages trying to sort out a weekend break and managed to do it with we ski in minutes and for the same price as booking it all up yourself. Flight, transfer and accommodation was all as expected and faultless.
