Les Allues is the historic heart of the Méribel Valley, nestled at 1,100 metres (3,608 ft) and surrounded by traditional Savoyard chalets, winding lanes, and a year-round local community. This charming village offers a peaceful base with quick access to the world-class skiing of the Three Valleys via the Olympe gondola. Whether you're here for snow filled adventures or a quiet alpine escape, Les Allues delivers timeless character, great value, and convenient links to everything Méribel has to offer.
The Olympe gondola links the village to Méribel Centre and La Chaudanne in under 15 minutes, providing full access to the Three Valleys' 600 km (372 mi) of pistes.
Beginners: Ride the Olympe gondola to Méribel’s Rhodos sector, where wide nursery slopes, magic carpets and English-speaking ski schools cluster around the Altiport and Rond-Point areas. Progression is seamless: greens like Blanchot flow into confidence-boosting blues such as Lapin and Doron before you download to the village for the evening.
Intermediates: Les Allues is perfectly placed for mileage hunters. From La Chaudanne, link tree-lined blues on the Tougnète side, then hop over to Courchevel for corduroy cruisers or tackle Mont Vallon’s 3 km reds (Combe de Vallon, Campagnol) for 1,000 m (3,280 ft) of vertical. Finish with the scenic Villages red or Raffort blue, skiing to within a minute’s walk of the gondola.
Advanced & off-piste: Challenge yourself on Méribel’s World Cup pistes, the mogul-strewn Face women’s downhill or the steep Bosses black. Fresh snow opens couloirs under the Saulire ridge and powder bowls off Mont Vallon; hire a guide for hidden lines into the Vallée des Avals or the tree-skiing routes down to Raffort. Fast trains and chairs make it easy to day-hit Val Thorens or Courchevel’s Grand Couloir for added grit.
Snowboarding: Three Valleys terrain parks cater to every style. Start with Méribel’s Elements Park for beginner boxes and small kickers, level-up at Plattières Park (rails, half-pipe, big air bag) and, on a blue-bird day, lap Courchevel’s Family Park for flowy features. Long, rolling pistes back to Les Allues give boarders plenty of carving space, and the mezzanine gondola download avoids flat exits when legs are spent.
Les Allues is ideal for families seeking a quiet and authentic alpine setting without sacrificing access to top-tier skiing. The village's slower pace, friendly atmosphere, and practical amenities (including ski rental shops and a grocery store) make it easy to settle in. Larger chalets are perfect for groups and families, and free ski buses offer an alternative to the gondola when travelling with kids. Though ski schools operate from Méribel Centre, they’re easily reachable from Les Allues.
Snow activities: Winter-walking, sledging, snowshoeing.
Non-skiing activities: Museum, paragliding.
Les Allues offers a handful of excellent dining options that reflect its international and traditional mix. La Tsaretta serves popular dishes from France, Britain, and Thailand in a cosy setting. For a more refined alpine meal, La Chaumière is known for its quality cuisine at great value. Nearby, La Croix Jean-Claude is a historic local favourite. For lunch on the mountain, access Méribel’s wide network of slope-side restaurants via the gondola, perfect for a mid-ski break before heading back to the calm of Les Allues.
The après scene in Les Allues is low-key and inviting. For something lively, La Tsaretta is a well-known local bar hosting live music, themed nights, and televised sports. It's a popular gathering spot for both locals and visitors. If you're after a more energetic experience, the Olympe lift or ski bus will take you up to the famous Folie Douce in Méribel for a high-altitude party.

I usually book flights, transfers, hotel, ski rental and lift passes myself but this year used WeSki for a trip to Morzine. It was so much easier. Everything worked perfectly - transfers arrived on time and there was plenty of feedback throughout the whole process giving you confidence the holiday would go smoothly.
A really useful service that is so much easier to use than other 'all-inclusive' sites. It nicely bridges the gap between a travel agent and booking the trip yourself online. I will use WeSki every time I go skiing from now on.
We booked a late minute skiing trip to Morzine through we ski. We looked at booking the trip ourselves but could get anywhere near the price quoted by we ski. The company was excellent and we had no problems at all from start to finish. I would definitely use them to book another weekend skiing trip.
Seamless experience from start to finish. I was spending ages trying to sort out a weekend break and managed to do it with we ski in minutes and for the same price as booking it all up yourself. Flight, transfer and accommodation was all as expected and faultless.
