Skiing in Val di Sole

Intermediates: This is red run heaven: cruise Folgarida-Marilleva’s tree-lined Orso Bruno, link across to Madonna di Campiglio for the rolling Cinque Laghi sector, then tackle Pinzolo’s 5 km (3,1 mi) Tulot Audi quattro run. Over at Tonale, the 11 km (6,83 mi) glacier to forest descent to Ponte di Legno gives a 1,700 m (5,577 ft) vertical workout.

Advanced & off-piste: Presena’s black Paradiso (3 000 m to 1 800 m) serves up steeps and views in equal measure; when powder falls, the open glacier bowls hold snow for days.
